T.H.A Send Sqauds To East Africa Nations Cup 2005
In December 2005 teams from the East African countries of Kenya, Tanzania & Uganda arrived in Nairobi, Kenya to do battle in the East African Nation Cup. The Tanzania Hockey Association sent Gent’s and Lady’s teams to Nairobi.
All matches were hosted at the Simba Union Sports Club and the whole tournament was 1 week long. While ‘both the Tanzanian Gent’s & Lady’s suffered losses to the far more experianced teams from Kenya, they were able to battle out draws against the teams from Uganda.
While obviously dissappointed in the defeats, this tournament allowed the Tanzania teams to gain much needed international exposure and will lay the foundation for future challanges.
